Until recently, January 1st was the age determining date for Girls AAU Basketball. However, this rule was amended at the 2007 Annual Convention and the date was changed to July 1st. The intention of the change is to better align AAU with grade levels and allow girls in the same graduation class to compete against each other. No grade exceptions were approved by AAU.
